Hi,

the following tries to explain Blast-Chat in an easy way. 

Blast-Chat is very easy to use if you understand some basic principles.

How does Blast-Chat work ? 

The Chat itself works through Ajax (javascript) mainly on your computer and is managed through the Blast-chat Website (not through Arabwestfoundation!) This is why starting it can take a bit longer at times. On the other hand it means that it's not our server that suffers from a high load if lots of people are chatting at the same time.

How do I become a user ?

As usual you can participate as a

• guest with a free nickname and limited possibilities
• registered user with full options (details see below)

You can register here .

Once you've registered with ENAWU and you're logged in you are automatically logged in to Blastchat as well. Your global username at blastchat is then built as <user> @enawu.

How do I start to chat ?

If you follow the link below you will enter the default room called www.enawu.com. This room and several others are considered local because only chatters from our website participate in the chat.

If you want to write to ALL users just enter your message in the field "message" below the main window and hit RETURN.

In the right window you can see who's online. You can follow the chat in the main window.

If you click on a username in the main-window you can receive additional information about that chatter in the right window and his username is copied into the To: field.

All you have to do now is write a message and click the SEND button. If you tick the box private the message can only be seen by the other chatter otherwise everybody will see what you write.

If you click on [rooms] in the Top menu of the chat-window you see the other local rooms. At present they are:

• default -- for general discussions
• politics -- for discussions about politics.

How can I chat with others chatters on other sites ?

If you click on [global] in the second menu line you see all other rooms on other sites that use blastchat. You can see if they are public, how many chatters are taking part in the chat and what language they are chatting in.

Usually only chats with four or more chatters are worthwhile looking into.

Many sites require that you at least register before you can chat, thus avoiding difficulties with chatters not adhering to the basic rules.

Is my chat saved ?

Be aware that blastchat website does log your chat. There is nothing that we can do to change this and sometimes it helps to see how discussions have developed or to ban people who misbehave. However, it does mean that it jeopardizes privacy. But be aware that ENAWU's main goal is to promote understanding between people.
