CIDT carries out commercial translation projects for international and local organisations in Cairo, as well as for a growing number of clients in Europe and elsewhere in the Middle East. CIDT has developed from a private initiative in 1994 and today provides accurate translations from Arabic to English (and of course English to Arabic). Depending on the availability of qualified resources, we have also provided translations to and from Arabic and English into German, Dutch, Danish and Korean. Much of its work centers around translating news articles and reports that appear in a range of Arab newspapers, and which are of particular interest or relevance to intercultural and Arab-West relations. These translations are then made available to students, researchers, journalists and others through the Arab-West Report (AWR), a weekly electronic digest of translated summaries from articles in the Arab media that is published by the Arab-West Foundation. |
